Bordeaux 2024 Market Analysis: First Growths Drive Recovery
The Bordeaux market showed clear signs of recovery in Q1 2024. Secondary market trading volumes for the five First Growths (Lafite, Latour, Mouton, Margaux, Haut-Brion) increased approximately 15% year-on-year, indicating renewed institutional buyer confidence.
The scarcity premium for Pétrus and Le Pin continues to drive up valuations for top Right Bank wines. Cheval Blanc and Ausone in Saint-Émilion have also benefited from strong Asian demand.
Looking ahead, en primeur pricing for the 2023 vintage will be a key market focus. Overall, the investment appeal of top Bordeaux wines is recovering.
